Tesco confirms plans to open a Jack's supermarket in North Liverpool

Discount retailer Jack’s is set to open another Liverpool store in Walton.

Tesco launched its discount brand Jack’s last year with the aim of rivalling Aldi and Lidl - and it only seems to be growing.

Jack’s has now confirmed on Twitter that a brand new store will open in Walton, though there is no official opening date yet.

On Twitter, a Jack’s spokesperson said: “I can confirm that we are opening a store in Liverpool Walton, however, we don’t have an opening date as of yet.

“All I can advise is to keep an eye on out social media and website for updates on the store opening”.

Tesco promises is that food sold at its Jack's store will be as “low as possible".

The store will open inside the former Tesco Metro on County Road.

The stores are names after Tesco founder Jack Cohen and were launched as part of its centenary.

Jack’s already has two stores in Merseyside, including Edge Hill and St Helens.
