Tesco Clubcard holders can double their points with their phones until March

If you've got a Tesco Clubcard, you'll be pleased to know that you can currently double up on your points - but there's only one way of doing it.

To make the most of the promotion, which is running until 1 March, you'll need to download the app.

According to Martin Lewis' website Money Saving Expert, "Until Sunday 1 March, you can get double points on your shopping if you scan your Clubcard at the checkout via the Clubcard app (available for  iPhone and  Android)."

However, you should know that you'll only be able to redeem the double points if you scan the Clubcard app, so don't scan your actual card if you want to double bubble it because it won't work.

You also won't be able to double up if you scan your card with Apple Pay, Android Pay or the Pay+ app.

The double points offer is available on most grocery items, but can't be redeemed on the following: fuel, tobacco products, stamps, saving stamps, items from the café, lottery products, prescription medicines, infant formula, gift cards, travel money and e-top-ups.

Tesco recently warned shoppers to spend their Clubcard vouchers before 29 February - which is when existing points will expire.

So if you're one of the people who need to spend them, make sure you do it quickly.

Tesco says that the total value of Manchester’s unused Clubcard vouchers could cover the cost of 34,711 pizzas  from Pizza Express, 12,496 family cinema  tickets at Cineworld, 13,017 day tickets to Alton Towers - so get spending, people!
