I've got to admit that when I'm craving a cooked breakfast, taking a trip to my nearest supermarket isn't the first solution that comes to mind.
I have eaten in supermarket cafés before, but it isn't something I do often, so I wasn't sure what to expect from a Tesco breakfast.
Usually you can't go wrong with a full English - as long as everything is warm, reasonably priced and relatively tasty, I won't complain.

I went to the Extra store in Eastville, found the café and got in the queue to order.
I paid £4.15, which I felt was pretty cheap, and the service was friendly and polite from when I entered to when I left.
And my food came to my table about 12 minutes after I ordered it, which is quick.
On my plate, there were two hash browns, a sausage and a rasher of bacon, two pieces of white toast, one egg, some beans and a tomato.

I was quite hungry so I would have liked more to eat, but for the price I couldn't complain.
It was good food too, with everything cooked through and warm without being burnt.
Nothing on the plate seemed like it had been reheated, which is always a good sign.
I ate my hash browns first because they're the best thing about a cooked breakfast, and they did not let me down - they seemed to have been cooked to just the right point, while they're still crispy but not hard.
I moved on to the toast, which came with a cute little bowl filled with butter, and I was relieved to see the toast wasn't burnt either.
The sausage I had on my plate was also tasty, as was the bacon, even if it was a little tough.
After polishing those off I tried the egg and was a little disappointed to see that it wasn't runny, but it tasted fine.
I actually think a fried egg is the hardest part to get right in a full English, but Tesco didn't do a bad job with it.
Finally, I had the beans. There was a pretty big portion of them, and they were warm and cooked through, so again I had no complaints.
This was my main takeaway from eating breakfast at Tesco - everything about it was 'fine'. That's the one word I would use to sum up the experience.
It might not have been the most incredible cooked breakfast I had ever eaten, but I couldn't really find anything wrong with it, aside from the lack of a runny yolk.
So, even though I'm in no hurry to go back, if I was ever doing my weekly shopping in Tesco and found myself feeling hungry, I would probably pop in and have a bite to eat again.
