One of the biggest supermarkets in the UK has updated its policies and Christmas deliveries in light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Tesco has released its Christmas delivery slots to Delivery Saver customers, with bookings for other shoppers available from 7am on November 20, reports Birmingham Live.
Deals have also been launched for Black Friday including electrical goods, toys, books and DVDs.
The supermarkets giant said: "There's still high demand for our online service, so we’d encourage you to shop in-store if you’re able to do so, where we have a number of safety measures in place.
"To help more people shop in-store at times that are quieter or more convenient, we've extended the opening hours in many of our shops, although the majority remain closed overnight.
"We've more than doubled the number of online slots to 1.5 million each week. This is to help anyone who's unable to shop in‐store – especially our most vulnerable customers – so they can access our online service."
Tesco now has 40 per cent fewer promotions as it moves to an 'everyday low price' strategy and sets up more discounts that are exclusive to Clubcard holders.
“That focus on simple, consistent value has in part been achieved by reducing the level of promotions," Tesco chief product officer Andrew Yaxley said.
A Tesco spokeswoman added: "We know that our customers want competitive prices for the products and brands they buy regularly.
"That’s why we’re offering great savings through our Clubcard Prices, as well as matching Aldi on hundreds of branded and own-brand items through our Aldi Price Match."
