Tesco, Asda, Aldi, Morrisons and Lidl opening hours after Euro 2020 final change

Several supermarkets in the UK, including Tesco, Lidl and Co-op, have changed their opening hours due to the Euro 2020 final.

England will play Italy in the European Championship final tonight.

Victory at Wembley would mark the men's football team's first major tournament win since the 1966 World Cup.

With momentum building, some businesses have introduced flexible working hours, so staff can enjoy the game.

The likes of Tesco have confirmed they will be operating reduced hours so we've created a guide below so you don't get caught out today.

It's worth remembering social distancing, face coverings and safety measures are still in place this weekend, prior to the full-relaxation of rules on July 19.

To help you plan your visit, here are the supermarket opening times for today.

Tesco

Tesco is closing all of its stores during the match.

Express stores in England will close from 7.45pm, with normal hours resuming on Monday.

Large stores will follow regular Sunday hours, closing at either 4pm or 5pm.

In a post on social media, the supermarket giant said: "Every fan helps. This is big. The biggest game in 55 years.

"That's why all our stores will be closed across England for the match, so our incredible colleagues can watch it too.

"It's the least they deserve after all their hard work.

"And come kick-off, England deserve every bit of support."

Asda

No changes have been made to Asda's opening times.

Stores will open today at either 10am or 10.30am as usual and close at 4pm or 4.30pm.

Aldi

Aldi has extended its Sunday opening hours to give customers "more time to stock up on food".

Aldi stores in England and Wales are usually open from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

But today they will open half an hour earlier, from 9.30am.

Morrisons

No changes have been made to Morrisons opening times.

Stores will open today at either 10am or 10.30am as usual and close at 4pm or 4.30pm.

Lidl

Lidl stores will close as usual at 4pm today.

But the budget supermarket will open later on Monday if England win.

Writing on social media, Lidl said: “Footballs coming home”

“We’re giving our team at Lidl more time to celebrate, so our English stores will open an hour later on Monday if England win.”

Co-op

Co-op confirmed all stores in England will close at 7.45pm so staff can watch the match.

In a statement on social media, they said: "It's not just football coming home, our colleagues are going home!

“All our stores in England are closing at 7:45pm on Sunday #ITSCOMINGHOME."
