So to get us in the mood for the approaching hot weather, Tesco supermarket is selling huge 1kg tubs of tasty strawberries for just £4.

While annoying for those who can't get to a Tesco, this is one of the cheapest prices of strawberries we've seen yet.
Whether you want to use yours to make some jam, blend into healthy smoothies or just eat in all the salads, meringues and snacks you can possibly handle, we've not seen any other retailer selling them for as cheap as Tesco right now.
Even if you buy frozen whole strawberries instead at Tesco, they'll still be more expensive than the fresh 1kg punnet, with Tesco currently offering 3 for £5 on its 350g bags, meaning just over 1kg of them will cost you a fiver.
The closest price point we could find is at Asda, who have their 300g punnets for £1.29, meaning you can get 900g of strawberries for £3.87 in total - pretty similar to Tesco's 1kg £4 box.
Sadly their country of origin is Spain, rather than Britain, so some strawberry fans may want to wait a bit longer to get the famous British strawberry taste in their punnets.
