Tesco app and website down leaving shoppers unable to log in

The Tesco app and website have gone down this evening, leaving shoppers unable to log in to make or amend their food orders.

The Downdetector website says that almost 2,000 customers have reported problems this evening, according to Mirror Online.

When users go to log into their accounts on the website, they are facing an error message which says: "It's not you, it's us.

"There's a problem at our end, but we're trying to fix it right now. Sorry for any inconvenience. Please come back later and try again.

"Thanks for your patience."

On the app, they get the shorter message: "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later."

Frustrated shoppers have tweeted the supermarket asking what is going on, to be told there is currently no timescale for the issue being resolved.

It says: "Our IT Team have got it raised as a priority ticket, we don't have a timescale of when it will be resolved at the moment but we are hoping to have it fixed soon."

Claire Jackson asked: "Is it going to take over 24 hours to fix the issue like it did last time your site went down - just need to know in case I need to plan a shopping trip tomorrow?"
