Tesco Antrim ATMs stolen overnight

Thieves are believed to have made off with two ATMs from Tesco in Antrim overnight.

A picture from the scene shows how a large yellow digger was left among what appears to be wreckage from the damage caused.

Images also show a fire at the premises.

It is understood the incident took place around 3am.

An eyewitness at the scene said they heard a loud bang before the alarms went off - then a digger appeared and a fire started.

Damage to the store is said to be minimal as the ATMs were at the side of the building.

The culprits are thought to have come from the direction of the Health Centre, which is reported to have CCTV.

A person at the scene said police have taped off the entrance to the supermarket. It is unclear at this stage whether the incident will impact customer access.

The PSNI and Tesco have been contacted for comment.
