Supermarket giant Tesco has announced changes which resulting in plastic-free Christmas products throughout its UK stores.
The brand shared the news via its Twitter news page today (Friday, December 17).
The post reads: "We’re helping our customers have more sustainable celebrations by removing plastic from our Christmas products #EveryLittleHelps "

According to a blog post by Jack Bristow, head of technical for home, Tesco has overhauled the packaging of much of its non-food range.
And in 2019, more than 42 million pieces of plastic were removed from its annual packaging footprint.
This included:
- 27 million pieces have been removed from celebration products
- Plastic wraps have been removed from greetings cards, plastic hooks from gift bags and from all Christmas Crackers.
- 13 million pieces have been removed home and garden products
- More than 70,000 pieces have been removed from some of the brand toy range
