Tesco announces another huge change to its online shopping delivery service

Tesco has announced it's bringing back its delivery saver subscription service.

The move will help customers save money on home deliveries over £40.

Tesco suspended its delivery saver plan in April after a surge in online orders, but has said it's implementing the money-saving scheme once again, reports The Mirror.

It comes as the government announced plans to end the shielding period for 2.2million people in England on August 1.

The supermarket, along with many others across the nation, had to make huge changes to both stores and online deliveries to keep up with demand due to the coronavirus pandemic, but is slowly making attempts to get back to normal.

Tesco has said it is also introducing a priority four-week slot view from July 1, allowing customers on the payment plan to see an entire month of slots before everyone else.

In an email to customers, Tesco said: "As you know, we suspended Delivery Saver payments in April, which allowed us to support 580,000 vulnerable customers with 1.1 million orders.

"We couldn't have done this without your patience and understanding. We’re now planning to restart Delivery Saver plans from 1 July.

Regarding the priority four-week slot review, the chain added: "This gives you the best chance of securing a slot in advance."
