Britain's largest retailer, Tesco has more than 3,000 stores in the UK under the Express, Metro, Superstores and Extra brands. As well as offering more food brands than any other retailer, Tesco has also diversified into numerous non-food markets, including banking, healthcare, telecoms, travel and energy. Its online business, Tesco.com, is now the world's largest online food retailer, offering consumers a choice of more than 75,000 products. The company is also a major international force, with stores in 13 countries around the world, including the US, China, South Korea and Hungary. Globally, the group employs more than half a million people and generates sales revenues in excess of £70bn. Despite its scale, the company offers a close-knit, team-orientated environment and has a solid reputation for staff development and promoting from within.
