Terry McLaurin says Dwayne Haskins pushed for Redskins to take him

It is an Ohio State reunion with the Washington Redskins for quarterback Dwayne Haskins and wide receiver Terry McLaurin.

The Redskins made Haskins the No. 15 overall pick in the first round, securing a potential franchise quarterback without trading up in the draft.

Fast forward to the third round, the Redskins made a smooth move by grabbing one of Haskins’ favorite collegiate targets with McLaurin.

And McLaurin said Haskins made a push for it, according to reporter Lake Lewis: “It’s a blessing to be in this situation and play with my college teammate [Dwayne Haskins]. He said he was going to push for me to be here. I see myself as that deep ball receiver that will take the top off of defenses.”

McLaurin put up 11 touchdowns last year while Haskins hit the 50 mark, so there is certainly some upside to the connection the Redskins just grabbed.

Granted, Haskins has to win the starting job from Case Keenum and McLaurin has to stand out from a hodgepodge of names on the wideout depth chart.

But the important thing is both have arrived. And no, Haskins wasn’t shy about his recruitment:
