Terry McLaurin pops up on an All-Rookie team

Washington Redskins rookie wideout Terry McLaurin isn’t going overlooked in some midseason honors.

Despite the chaos around him, McLaurin has been one of the steadiest surprises for the Redskins in 2019.

That would explain why the Ohio State product pops up on Dane Brugler‘s All-Rookie team at The Athletic:

Aside from the stat sheet, McLaurin’s tape is even more impressive, creating his own separation through his releases and route quickness. He understands how to set up defenders, leverage their body position and force them off-balance downfield. And McLaurin has managed to be productive despite uneven play at the quarterback position.

McLaurin doesn’t just have 458 yards and five scores, he has eight plays of 20 yards or more and 24 first downs.

If nothing else, McLaurin’s emergence has provided a bit of hope for the future. The presence of a No. 1 wideout like that is a good thing to have as the Redskins try to make sure Dwayne Haskins devlopes into a long-term starter.
