Terry McLaurin is only rookie in PFF’s Top 25 wide receiver rankings

The NFL season is now past the midway point, so brace yourself as many of the top-25 lists that will be flooding your news feed over the next several days.

However, there is one of those aforementioned lists that many Washington Redskins fans may want to read. It’s a ranking of the top 25 wide receivers in the NFL, and there’s a familiar name listed smack dab in the middle.

It’s safe to say that rookie WR Terry McLaurin has made an impression so far this season. With 497 yards and five touchdowns through his first nine games, McLaurin is averaging 15.5 yards per catch, and he is the 13th-best wide receiver in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.

The only rookie to appear on this list, McLaurin has been one of few bright spots for Washington this season. The former Ohio State wideout enters Week 10 ranked 14th among qualifiers in yards per route run at 2.02. He has also forced four missed tackles after the catch and has hauled in six of his 11 contested targets on the year.

In a year where it is increasingly hard to find any positive storylines for the Redskins, McLaurin has proved to be one of the main bright spots for a team that is hovering near rock bottom. If a couple of other young players can continue to improve, like quarterback Dwayne Haskins and running back Derrius Guice, then the trio will have a bright future in the NFL. It all starts with McLaurin, though, and he’s well on his way to stardom.
