Don’t look now, but Terry McLaurin, the Washington Redskins rookie wide receiver out of Ohio State, is having his name mentioned in some conversations with NFL all-time greats.
According to Matthew Berry and Field Yates, with ESPN’s “Fantasy Focus,” McLaurin is the first player to have over 60 yards receiving and one touchdown in each of his first career games since Calvin Johnson did so in 2007. That may be a rather obscure statistic, but any time you are mentioned in the same breath with the former Detroit Lions wideout, it has to be a positive sign.
In McLaurin’s first game of his career, he amassed 125 yards receiving with one touchdown, and this past week against the Dallas Cowboys, he led the Redskins with 69 yards receiving and a touchdown. The rookie was mentioned in a few fantasy football conversations ahead of the season as a sleeper pick in deep leagues, but now he has burst onto the scene as a player who is a must-own in all leagues.
The Redskins season may not have started as they hoped, but McLaurin’s young career is off to a blazing start.
