Obviously, the Washington Redskins drafted wide receiver Terry McLaurin in the third round with the hopes that he would turn into a dynamic deep threat to pair with former college teammate Dwayne Haskins on offense.
An additional bonus, however, is that McLaurin poses a significant threat on Special Teams as well.
A mix of quickness and agility allows the third-round receiver to excel on special teams, and McLaurin has been proving his worth there already while he tries to split time between that and the offense.
“With a player like that, you just got to make sure they’re not overdoing it because they’re doing anything you ask,” said Redskins special teams coordinator, Nate Kaczor, via Redskins.com. “They’re just special people, and he’s certainly one of those.”
Whether it’s gunning on kick-offs or squirting up the field on kick-return, McLaurin has proven so far in spring camp that he is much more valuable than your average receiver.
