Terry Cooper’s goal against Arsenal at Wembley sealed the 1968 League Cup for Leeds United

The former left-back was one of the stalwarts of the Leeds team during the club’s most memorable era under manager Don Revie in the 1960s and 70s, making 351 appearances in total.
Cooper scored the only goal of the game with a volley as the Whites beat Arsenal at the old Wembley Stadium to claim League Cup success in 1968, while he was a key part of the team that won the First Division title in 1968-69.
The defender - who notched 11 goals in total for Leeds - later played for Middlesbrough, Bristol City, Bristol Rovers and Doncaster, while he also won 20 senior caps for England between 1969-74, playing at the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.
Cooper was player-manager at both Bristol clubs and twice coached Exeter, where he won the Fourth Division title in 1990, in addition to a stint in charge at Birmingham and later a scouting role with Southampton.
