The Saudi Interior Ministry announced on Thursday that it had executed a convicted terrorist after he was found guilty of killing a member of the security forces and pledging allegiance to a terrorist organization.

The sentence was carried out in the Makkah region.

The ministry identified the convict as Saudi national Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Saad al-Malki.

It said he had killed security forces member, Abdullah bin Mashari al-Sabaiyi, while he was on duty.

Malki was arrested and convicted by the specialized criminal court after an investigation.

The Interior Ministry stressed the keenness of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz in achieving security and justice in the Kingdom, including through carrying out death sentences against anyone who deigns to undermine the country's security.
