One thing is clear about this afternoon's events: the bombers and bomb makers were very different from the suicide bombers whose attacks exactly two weeks ago killed more than 50 people.

First indications suggested those responsible for today's attacks were "amateurs" and their bombs were crude ...

In the Observer, meanwhile, the same eerie limbo as two weeks ago. With no newspaper to print tomorrow we can only despatch our reporters to the scene, then watch and wait, probably like most offices around the country, trying to get a handle on what exactly has happened.

The prime minister has made a brief statement urging everyone to continue business as usual.

Sad to report, the England cricket team appear to be taking him at his word.
