These dramatic images show a car torched on a street in the early hours of New Year's Day.
Fire crews were called to Bechers, in Widnes , just after 2am after the blaze engulfed the vehicle.
Witnesses heard "popping" as the flames destroyed the black Vauxhall Zafira.
It was claimed three males dressed in black were seen running from the vehicle as the fire broke out.
One passerby said he stumbled across the dramatic sight when he turned a corner as he walked home and added: "It was intense... I could feel the heat.
"As soon as the firefighters arrived they were throwing water on it, they were incredible."
Cheshire Police said officers were called to the incident at 2.10am.
It was confirmed Cheshire Fire Service extinguished the blaze and that police are treating it as arson.
