This is the terrifying moment seconds after a trailer detached from a tractor and hit a car in Co Kildare.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 7pm on Wednesday.
The incident happened on the Main Street of the town of Sallins.
Video footage shows the trailer seconds after it detached from the tractor as it moved through the town.
One motorist desperately swerves to avoid the oncoming trailer before it eventually collides with another car.
Images from the scene show extensive damage to the front of the car and the airbags deployed inside.
Both the driver of the car and the tractor were taken to hospital for treatment.
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision that occurred on Main Street, Sallins on Wednesday 16th June 2021 at 7.15pm.
"A trailer disconnected from a tractor and collided with an oncoming vehicle. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries.
"Investigations are ongoing."
