A person was saved after fainting onto train tracks - seconds before a carriage approached.
The horrifying moment took place in Bronx in New York City.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) posted the camera footage from a station in the Bronx on Thursday evening, saying that a passenger had taken ill and fallen onto the lines.
In a clip posted to the NYPD’s Twitter account, two people, an NYPD transit officer and a “good Samaritan” at the station, can be seen jumping down onto the tracks to lift the person to safety.
The clip was recorded at the platform at the 149th Street and 3rd Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.
In the short video, a woman can be heard shouting to "hurry" and "slow the train down" as the two men rescue the unconscious person from the tracks - with a train coming into the station just seconds afterwards.
A statement issued by NYPD alongside the footage praised both the officer and the member of the public who helped.
It said: "NYPD cops help New Yorkers at any cost!
"When a sick strap hanger lost consciousness and fell on the subway tracks in the Bronx, @NYPDTransit officers didn't hesitate for a moment to put his safety ahead of their own.
"We're also grateful to the Good Samaritan who bravely helped."
