Terrifying moment platform carrying window cleaners swings violently out of control at top of skyscraper in Oklahoma City

This is the terrifying moment a large window cleaning platform carrying two workers began swinging wildly out of control at the top of a skyscraper.

Footage shared by Oklahoma City Fire Department on Wednesday showed the basket thrashing from side to side at the top of Devon Tower in Oklahoma City.

The platform shattered glass on the building, prompting firefighters to evacuate the streets surrounding the tower. "This is a very dangerous situation,” they said.

As the basket continued to swing violently, specialists made their way to the top of the tower. They secured rope bags to the building and lobbed the bags to the window cleaners.

They were able to secure the rope to the platform, with firefighters then bringing it under control.

As the basket was steadied, the grateful window cleaners were able to get off.

After being assessed by medics, the fire department said they “remarkably” refused any further treatment.

It added: “We are so happy they are OK.”
