Terrifying video footage from the New York subway shows a man attempt to abduct a teenage girl as her dad sleeps beside her.
Police have arrested 48-year-old Sonny Alloway, and charged him with unlawful imprisonment after the girl was grabbed by a man who then tried to carry her off the train and onto the platform.
Video taken by fellow passengers on the line 6 train shows a man, who is seen decked out all in red with red shoes, trying to talk to a girl who sleeps next to her dad with her face covered.
In another clip, the man approaches her and lifts her up suddenly.
The girl screams for help while being carried away.
She desperately breaks free as the man in red appears to lose his nerve and lets her go. She runs back to the carriage while the man in red sits down on a bench.
She is heard yelling to her father: "What the f***? Pa, get the f*** up! Get up!
"This guy is trying to grab me! This guy is trying to get me off the train!"
The father is joined by other passengers who intervene and try to grab hold of the alleged kidnapper.
The dad is heard to shout "Who grabbed you?" as the man in red strolls away. He then sits calmly on a bench on the platform as if nothing has happened.
The incident took place as the train had stopped at the Morrison Avenue Soundview station in the Bronx at around 2.30am on Monday.
Police arrested Alloway nearby and charged him with unlawful imprisonment.
