Terrifying moment gang hold heavily pregnant cashier at gunpoint during harrowing raid

This is the terrifying moment a gang burst into a city shop and held a heavily pregnant cashier at gunpoint during a chilling raid.

CCTV footage released by West Midlands Police shows the gang bring the cashier to her knees as they strip the Chelmsley Wood store of cash, cigarettes and alcohol, Birmingham Live reports.

You can watch the harrowing footage above.

At eight months pregnant, the terrified victim could do nothing but hide behind the counter as she watched the gang point the firearm at the head of her husband during the robbery.

He had bravely rushed to the store in a bid to protect her and their 7-year-old son who watched in horror as the terrifying ordeal unravelled.

Ringleader Paul Doyle (West Midlands Police)

Ringleader Paul Doyle, Joshua Barrett and Luke Mander stole £2,000 worth of cigarettes and alcohol - although the primary target was the cash machine.

Judge Kubic addressed the robbery at the Norwich Croft convenience shop on November 9 in particular.

Judge Kubic said the shop was local to them and it was 'no coincidence' they targeted it whilst the female shopkeeper, who was eight months pregnant, was working alone.

"When the three of you entered the shop in masks and balaclavas brandishing weapons, you made your way behind the counter and robbed her," Judge Kubic said.

"The events were captured on CCTV.

"She was threatened by an imitation firearm and forced to the floor as the robbery took place around her.

"She was terrified by her ordeal.

"The firearm was placed to the head of her husband when he rushed to the shop in panic seeking to protect his pregnant wife after hearing the events on the telephone.

"Some of these events were observed by their seven-year-old son including the gun being held at his father's head."

The men were involved in more violent robberies in October including carjackings, were they targeted lone female drivers.

A fourth man, 18-year-old Kier Carter, from Kingsbury Road in Erdington, admitted being involved in the car thefts at an earlier hearing and was jailed for three years.
