Terrifying moment five-year-old girl is chased by coyote while playing at home

This is the heart-stopping moment a little girl came face-to-face with predatory wolf in her front garden.

Christine Przybylski, 5, was playing on the lawn of her Chicago home when a rogue coyote sped towards her.

Video footage, captured on her parents’ CCTV camera, showed the 5-year-old sprinting desperately away from the wild animal as it continued its terrifying pursuit.

Christine, who miraculously escaped unscathed, later spoke about the close encounter.

“I just skipped out the door and I went to the mailbox," she told local broadcaster WLS.

"I decided to go to the swing and when I went to the swing he ran by. I was like 'Oh my God.'"

At one point, the coyote got so close she said she could feel its ear.

“It almost bit my rib,” she added.

Luckily, the little girl managed to run up the stairs of her home and into the arms of her mother.

Elizabeth Przybylski said she heard her daughter scream as she rushed into the house ”with this wild story.”

After watching the CCTV recording, she said: "He really pursued her violently. I'm so glad she got away."

The concerned mother said that from now on, Christine would be accompanied while playing in the garden.

Neighbours told reporters that the coyote most likely came from a nearby wooded area.

Coyotes are a predatory canine native to North America and closely related to the grey wolf.
