Terrifying moment estate agent is hit by car as he shows off flat in Woodford

This is the shocking moment an estate agent is hit by a car and sent flying across the road while carrying out a flat-viewing in east London.

CCTV footage shows the blue Smart car mount the pavement and career into the agent as he shows off the exterior of a new-build apartment block in Woodford.

The prospective tenant sees the oncoming car at the last moment and manages to leap onto a wall to avoid being seriously injured.

But the estate agent takes “quite hit to his legs” and is carried on the bonnet before being dumped on the other side of Shenfield Road in Woodford.

A friend of the victim said the hit-and-run was “completely random”.

The blue Smart car can be seen mounting the pavement before striking the estate agentSupplied

He told the Standard: “He was an independent letting agent and was working showing someone the flats in the building there.  The guy who managed to jump out of the way was a prospective tenant.

“He is doing well but shaken up. He did require hospital treatment but thankfully his injuries were not life-threatening.

“He took quite a hit to his legs and knees.”

A Met Police spokesman said the force was called to reports that a car had mounted a pavement and collided with a man before making off at 3.20pm on Friday, 26 March.

He added: “Officers attended with the LAS and a man, aged in his forties, was taken to hospital. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

“There have been no arrests.”
