Terrifying moment British Airways plane narrowly misses tourists on dramatic landing

This is the terrifying moment a British Airways plane touches down at an airport - narrowly missing tourists.

The dramatic footage captured by Cargospotter Aviation shows the plane just metres above holidaymakers' heads as it makes its way onto Skiathos Airport's runway.

Dubbed the 'European St Maarten', the airport is a popular attraction for plane enthusiasts.

The short and narrow runway is based just off the Aegean Sea and allows tourists to legally see a plane land up close.

During days of good weather, up to 100 people arrive behind the runway to watch the planes land and depart.

The turbulence was said to be strong (Cargospotter)

Martin from Cargospoter says: "Airplanes land and depart right behind a small road and the airport of Skiathos became one of the main tourist attractions of the Greek island.

"Low landings and jetblasts can be observed on a daily basis and last week we filmed an incredible low British Airways Embraer E190 landing."

He said that people watching the plane were pushed from the wall due to the turbulence.

Skiathos is best known for its bustling beaches and nightlife scene. It can be reached from the UK in just under four hours.
