Terrifying knifeman drags woman to floor in petrol station robbery last night in Leeds

A worker was dragged to the floor by a masked knifeman in a terrfying robbery at a Leeds petrol station last night.

West Yorkshire Police have launced an investigation after four masked men robbed a petrol station in Leeds leaving a staff member “distressed”.

The gang entered the BP station, in York Road, Whinmoor, at about 7.40pm last night (Wednesday) and one of them was armed with a large knife.

He grabbed the lone woman and threw her to the floor before forcing her to open the till.

The gang stole cash from the till and a quantity of cigarettes before driving off, said West Yorkshire Police.

Detective Inspector Michael Herbert, of Leeds District CID, said: “This was obviously a frightening experience for the member of staff involved and she has been left understandably distressed by it.

“We are carrying out extensive enquiries to identify those responsible and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the suspects in the vicinity.”
