Terrifying haul of deadly weapons found in raid on house

A stash of potentially deadly weapons is set to be destroyed after police discovered the sinister haul in a Wirral home.

Officers uncovered a collection of swords, vicious knives and a baseball bat while searching the Spital property.

Cannabis was also found at the Colmore Avenue address, which was targeted by police after concerns were raised within the local community.

A team of officers executed a drugs warrant on Monday, raiding the home and discovering a stash of six weapons, including three swords.

A 39-year-old man from the Spital area was issued a caution for possession of cannabis as part of the operation.

Community Inspector Tom Welch said: "This warrant enabled us to take weapons out of circulation which, in the wrong hands, could have been used to cause very serious injury or worse.

“Our work goes on to remove items such as this to make communities in Merseyside safer, and we will continue targeting anyone we suspect of storing such weapons or dealing drugs

"This action was the result of information provided you, so keep coming forward with what you know and we will respond."
