'Terrifying experience' as two men invade home with firearm

At first glance it looks like something from a horror movie — but this "terrifying experience" was all too real for one Adelaide resident.

South Australian Police have released CCTV footage of two suspects wanted by police after breaking into a home at Elizabeth South on Tuesday — one armed with a firearm.

Police were called to a house on Willison Road at 2:45am on Tuesday, May 15, after two men had forced their way into a home, one armed with a firearm.

During the home invasion, police said a single gun shot was discharged into a room within the home with Elizabeth CIB investigating the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Catherine Hilliard said the occupant of the house was not physically harmed and the two men stole property from the house.

"Investigations have identified that two men, one armed with a firearm attended the house, they forced entry to the house through the front door," she said.

"Whilst in the house a shot was discharged from the firearm.

"This appears to be an isolated incident, however, what I can say is the victim was traumatised and it was a terrifying experience for him."

Police said an unreported incident also occurred at the same property on Thursday, May 8 where two men, not wearing masks, were also caught on CCTV — police suspect they may be linked to the firearms incident.

"Police are releasing the CCTV and appealing for members of the public with any information to assist the investigation to contact CrimeStoppers," Chief Inspector Hilliard said.

Anyone who recognises anyone pictured in the CCTV or has any information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.
