A terrifying daylight robbery in a Scottish village saw a staff member was threatened with a knife.
A man entered the Key Store in Hamilton Crescent in Newtongrange, Midlothian at around 2.50pm on Friday, March 18.
He threatened the male shop worker with a knife and demanded money before making off with a three-figure sum of cash.
The suspect then headed in the direction of Anderson Avenue, leaving the 41-year-old worker "badly shaken" but uninjured.
The suspect has been described as white, around 25-years-old, between 5ft 6” to 5ft 8” tall, of a slim build with short, brown hair.
He had been wearing a grey tracksuit with a black hooded top underneath as well as distinctive blue and white Nike trainers.
The man had also been wearing a black balaclava at the time of the robbery.
Detective Inspector Laura Dickson of Police Scotland said: “Fortunately the 41-year-old shop worker was uninjured, however he is badly shaken as a result of this robbery.
"Officers have been in the area carrying out enquiries and are currently checking through CCTV footage to gather more information.
“We would appreciate any assistance from the public in relation to this crime.
"If you were in the area around the time of the robbery and witnessed anything suspicious or recognise the description of the man responsible, please get in touch.
"Anyone with personal footage that may help this investigation is asked to contact us too.”
