A Scots woman has reported 'multiple sightings' of a '‘ growling, black puma' in a park in the east end of Glasgow and fears it "might attack one day."
The woman from Glasgow explained the terrifying encounters in Carmyle New Park on the banks of the River Clyde.
She notified big cat sightings website Puma Watch to the encounters, the last of which she says occurred back in May this year, Glasgow Live reports.
She told the website that on May 2, a puma jumped over her son onto a tree while the pair were watching deer and fears now the park is unsafe as the animal “might attack one day".
She said: “We were walking through the park at Carmyle and went over to the bridge to watch deers. The puma jumped over my son's head and onto a tree. I couldn’t get a picture in time.
“I always see its footprints about the park and you hear it growl. I think it’s unsafe to go to the park, it might attack one day.”
To add weight to her claims, she has provided photos of what she believes to be footprints the large, secretive cat - primarily found in the mountains of North and South America - has left in the park.
It's not the first time 'big cats' have been sighted in Glasgow, with Glasgow City Council registering two separate reports of "panther-type" animals by locals within a 48 hour period at Linn Park golf course way back in 2005.
