Terrified staff threatened with knife and hatchet as thieving thugs storm North Dublin bookies

A manhunt is underway after thieves armed with knives threatened staff before taking cash from a North Dublin bookies.

Gardai in Swords are investigating the terrifying incident which happened on Thursday evening.

Two men, one armed with a knife and the other with a hatchet, stormed the bookies in the Manor Mall area.

Luckily nobody was hurt while the men escaped with a sum of cash in the direction of The Jacko area.

Gardai confirmed the incident and said the investigation is ongoing.

"Gardaí are investigating a robbery at a bookmakers in Swords that occurred on 31/10/19 at approximately 8:10pm.

"Two males armed with knives entered the premises, threatened staff and demanded cash. An undisclosed sum of cash was taken in this incident.

"No injuries were sustained. Investigations are ongoing."
