Terrified Jodie Comer given 'top celeb bodyguard' after string of 'nasty experiences'

Jodie Comer has reportedly been given a top celebrity bodyguard after being left terrified over a series of "nasty experiences" on set.

The Killing Eve actress, 29, has been working on apocalyptic thriller The End We Start From, but security on set has been increased after a number of 'incidents', it has been reported.

She is said to have been given a bodyguard that has previously worked for her co-star and executive producer of the movie, Benedict Cumberbatch.

A source has suggested that movie producers didn't want to take any risks after Jodie's "unpleasant experiences".

They told the Mail On Sunday: "A bodyguard who has previously looked after Benedict was drafted in and other measures have been implemented. Jodie's safety is paramount. She has had some nasty experiences lately."

Jodie has previously been the victim of a stalking incident, with a fan attempting to present her with a bouquet of flowers at the Harold Pinter Theatre while she was taking part in her one-woman show, Prima Facie, in April.

The fan turned up again a month later and was spotted "behaving oddly" before being pointed out to security staff.

While a year ago, Jodie received death threats from an obsessed fan in France, who told her: "I am coming to England to create carnage."

The Mirror has reached out to Jodie's reps for comment.

Last month, it was revealed that Jodie was in the frame to play Coleen in the Wagatha Christie TV drama.

A TV insider told The Sun : "The creative teams are determined to sign up major league actors.

"Jodie [Comer] and Emerald [Fennell] have the gravity to pull off performances as two strong women locking horns in court.

"This is a race to deliver a serious depiction of the chain of events that saw the Wagatha case end up in court."

Emerald played Camilla Parker Bowles in The Crown and wrote the second series of Killing Eve, which also starred Jodie.
