Terrified fairground visitors were left stuck in the air for two hours after a ride got stuck.
Emergency services were called to Gloucester Park after four people became trapped.
Fire crews were called 5.15pm to reports of four people stuck after a ride stopped in mid air, Gloucestershire Live reports.
Pictures show one of the tall swing rides, called Star Flyer, with people hanging from seats in mid-air.
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed two crews were sent to the scene from Gloucester North and Gloucester South.
They had specialist ladders, but the owners of the ride managed to get it working again and free the stricken customers.
Gloucestershire Police also attended to manage onlookers as a crowd built up around the ride.

No one was hurt during the incident although the trapped riders were stuck for more than two hours.
A spokesman for the Bob Wilson's Funfairs explained a safety mechanism on the ride had kicked in and stopped it, and that everyone involved was safe and well.
She also confirmed the Star Flyer would be back open again tomorrow for the last day of the fair, which opens at 2pm.
The fair at Gloucester Park is an annual favourite for the city and has been in place this summer on weekends throughout August.
