Terrified Edinburgh woman flees man who threatened to 'stab' her in street

Police are currently investigating an incident where an Edinburgh woman was threatened with physical violence as she exited a beauty store on Home Street

The woman is understood to have been leaving a nail bar when an unknown woman asked her for a cigarette.

When the woman refused, the assailant told her male friend "Go f***ing get her, stab her." The woman is believed to have fled the scene by running across the road and jumping on a bus, as the man chased her.

Thankfully, she made it onto the bus before the man could catch up with her and later reported her ordeal to police.

It has been reported to the police, and officers have assured the public that they are currently investigating.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Edinburgh Live: "We received a report of threatening behaviour which happened at Home Street in Edinburgh at around 5pm on Thursday, 7 October, 2021. Enquiries are ongoing."
