Terrified dog found tied to park bench finds 'safe and loving' forever home

An abandoned dog that was found tied to a park bench in Hamilton has found a "safe and loving" forever home.

The terrified Staffordshire bull terrier Rocky was suffering from a chronic skin condition when police found him in Bothwell Park in February.

Animal welfare chiefs describe the five-year-old pooch as "shaking and clearly in distress" after being left to fend for himself.

The frightened dog is being cared for by the Scottish SPCA (SSPCA)

But now this handsome boy is ready for a new start thanks to his new human, Jonny.

The SSPCA shared the good news on its Facebook page, adding: "Our team worked hard with Rocky to rehabilitate him and get him to a stage where he trusted people again.

"We are thrilled that he has now found his safe and loving home with Jonny."
