'Terrible' - Pundit criticises Nottingham Forest star and makes penalty claim

There is little doubt in the minds of Nottingham Forest fans about what the key turning point was in Saturday’s defeat to Birmingham City.

The Reds were handed a in the Sky Bet Championship clash, which put an end to their seven-game unbeaten run which had seen them climb up to third in the table.

After that defeat the Reds are now in fourth place and four points behind Leeds United, who they play next weekend at the City Ground and occupy the second automatic promotion position.

Back to the action at St Andrew’s, and Forest made a bright start with a goal from Tiago Silva seemingly putting the visitors on course for another win.

And when the Reds were awarded a penalty midway through the first half, a 2-0 advantage looked to be on it's way.

But up stepped Lewis Grabban, and his spot kick was saved by Lee Camp, and Blues went on to win the game with goals from Scott Hogan and Kristian Pedersen.

The miss was the first time this season that Grabban has failed to score from the penalty spot, with his previous three against Luton Town, Blackburn Rovers and Hull City all finding the back of the net.

If you go back to the 2018/19 season, Grabban scored three but missed four from the spot, and former West Ham striker Dean Ashton has picked up on this record.

"He has a terrible record with penalties,” said Ashon, while appearing on EFL on Quest.

He added: “If I'm the manager, I am not letting him take penalties just based on his record."
