ORLANDO, Fla. _ The Orlando Magic made a trade off the court, and then they sizzled on it.
Luckily, Terrence Ross was not a departing player in the transaction.
Ross made six 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 32 points to lead the Magic to a 122-112 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday night at Amway Center.
Nikola Vucevic finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Aaron Gordon scored 19 points and Evan Fournier had 18 for the Magic (23-32).
The Magic acquired 76ers guard Markelle Fultz, the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NBA draft, earlier Thursday in a trade that sent reserve forward Jonathon Simmons to Philadelphia.
On the court, the Magic shot 54.2 percent from the field as they split the season series with the Timberwolves.
The Magic outscored the Timberwolves (25-29) in every quarter but the fourth, and by a combined 70-54 margin in the second and third quarters.
Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 27 points and Andrew Wiggins had 23 for the Timberwolves.
Ross had 20 points and Vucevic had 15 early to help the Magic score 71 first-half points, setting a season-high point total in a half. Their previous high of 69 came in the first half Tuesday in Oklahoma City.
After building a 71-59 halftime lead, the Magic maintained their double-digit advantage throughout the third quarter. Isaiah Briscoe's drive and kick to Wes Iwundu for a 3-pointer closed the third-quarter scoring and put Orlando up 102-85.
The Magic have won two of their past three games and have pulled within three games of the seventh- and eighth-place teams in the Eastern Conference.
