Terrell Owens chimes in on Donovan McNabb-Carson Wentz drama

The drama surrounding the comments made by Donovan McNabb about Carson Wentz just ratcheted up even more after former Eagles star, Terrell Owens, hopped into the fray. Early Tuesday morning, Owens quote tweeted Johnson’s post, sticking up for Wentz by adding his own comments.

Was Owens referring to Johnson’s frustration with McNabb, or was the Hall of Fame wide receiver referring to the time he mouth those same words about Tony Romo after a playoff loss?

The drama started while McNabb was a guest on the Zach Gelb Show on CBS Sports Radio over the weekend, where he said he believes the Eagles should move on from Wentz if he doesn’t get them to the NFC title game in the next few years.

Johnson then ripped McNabb on Sunday night via Twitter and as a guest on 94WIP, saying that Donovan was a snake for not “trying to build up a young man who looks up to him instead of always criticizing him.”

Owens and McNabb had a strained relationship as teammates in 2004 and 2005, and things got worse after Owens insinuated that the quarterback “got tired” in the Super Bowl, costing the Eagles the Lombardi Trophy.
