Terrell Davis thinks Vikings should bring back Adrian Peterson

The Vikings could be in the market for a backup running back with Latavius Murray set to be a free agent.

The team’s starter, of course, is Dalvin Cook.

Could we see them bring back Adrian Peterson?

That’s what Terrell Davis thinks the team should do.

Well, this is very unlikely to happen, but it’s not a crazy thought.

Peterson is 33 and it’s been two years since the Vikings let him walk in free agency. But it’s clear Peterson still has something left in the tank. Last season with Washington, he ran for 1,042 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging 4.2 yards per carry. He started all 16 games.

He’d likely be a bargain. He signed with the Redskins for just $1 million last season. But we could also see him take the approach he did last season and wait for a potential injury to hit a team before signing – although, it wasn’t like teams were lining up to sign Peterson.

An unlikely scenario certainly, but Peterson returning to the Vikings isn’t as crazy as it sounds.
