Terrell Davis thinks Adrian Peterson will have a huge game vs. Cowboys

Terrell Davis is one of the many who think Adrian Peterson is about to have a big performance in Week 2.

Peterson was inactive in Week 1 for personnel purposes while the starting job went to the now-injured Derrius Guice. But now he’s once again the bellcow and Davis said on NFL Network that this whole scenario will produce a big day:

“He feels like he’s been slighted. They put him down last week…you talk about a person who has taken it personally, internalized everything that has happened to him, and every time something like this happens….he comes back mad…He is hungry and angry at the same time. He will have a big day for the Redskins just because they sat him in week 1.”

The Redskins will certainly need a big game from Peterson if they’re going to take down an NFC East rival like the Dallas Cowboys.

Last year in a loss to Dallas, Peterson had just 35 yards on a 2.9 average. In a win, 99 and 4.1. That might be even more important this year with the defense hurting and Case Keenum under center.

Granted, we’d never credit this whole situation as smart long-term thinking by Redskins coaches — but the timing sure doesn’t hurt.
