Terrance Ferguson, Justin Patton help repair homes in Oklahoma City

The start of the 2019-20 season is drawing near, with players making their final preparations for training camp. But that didn’t stop multiple members of the Thunder from giving back to their community over the weekend.

The Thunder organization partnered with the Love’s organization as part of third annual She Builds initiative – a female-lead campaign adopted by Rebuilding Together OKC that provides critical home repairs to women in need.

This year, repairs were made to Mrs. Peggy’s house, a 63-year-old in the Oklahoma City area.

Thunder guard Terrance Ferguson and newly acquired center, Justin Patton, were two of the volunteers that worked on Mrs. Peggy’s house, lending their time (not to mention their height and their wingspan) as they painted the roof and installed light bulbs and windows.

Patton said that it was gratifying to give back to the Oklahoma City community.

People like Mrs. Peggy make the community. People seeing her reaction and how she’s going to pay it forward and how we’re going to pay it forward was just great all around.

Likewise, Terrance called it a proud moment.

It was amazing. Seeing that she could just relax, smile, lay down and just rest and enjoy her beautiful home. It was a proud moment.

The Thunder start training camp in Oklahoma City on October 1.
