Terminator 6: Title and release date revealed for Judgement Day sequel

The name of the brand new Terminator film has been revealed.

Filmmaker Tim Miller (Deadpool) is set to direct the sixth installment in the science-fiction franchise, with original director James Cameron set to produce.

Paramount has confirmed the film, which stars Makenzie Davis and Natalie Reyes, will go by the name of its working title: Terminator: Dark Fate.

As previously reported, the film will be a direct sequel to 1991 action film Terminator 2: Judgement Day, with Cameron choosing to write off every other Terminator film that followed as nothing more than a "bad dream".

Sarah Connor star Linda Hamilton has reunited with Arnold Schwarzenegger for the film that'll take on Elizabeth Banks's Charlie's Angels reboot when it's released later this year. You can see them together on set here.

Cameron is currently hard at work on multiple Avatar sequels, the first of which will be released more than 10 years since the first.

Terminator: Dark Fate will be released in cinemas on 1 November.
