A terminally ill man and his partner say they are overwhelmed by the generosity of strangers after a surge of donations towards a fund for the pair's dream wedding.
Jamie Tanner, 36, said he wanted to marry "the love of his life" Emma Haggan, 30, before he dies. The couple were planning their dream wedding in Italy over the summer when Jamie was told he had incurable lung cancer.
Since the diagnosis, a gofundme page has been shared more than 2,000 times and raised just over £8,000 to help the pair with their wedding funds.
Wedding Wishing Well is an organisation that helps couples who are dealing with terminal illnesses and helping the couple raise money.
Emma tells their story on the crowdsourcing page: "Our relationship was romantic from the very beginning. Jamie worked away, but would keep in touch with verses of the song, ‘Amazed’ by Lonestar, and he’d bring coloured roses for me when he came home at the weekends.
"I’d fallen in love, and it was obvious that Jamie felt the same way – he had grown incredibly close to my daughter, Amara, and never missed a hospital appointment or operation."

They decided to get married in Lake Garda Italy in 2017 before they received the news.
"The words ripped our hearts out," said Emma on learning that Jamie’s cancer was incurable.
Emma said that Jamie is "my superman accepting every challenge and treatment, and fighting every step of the way."
"The cancer is now in his lungs and the treatment makes him very ill, yet I seldom hear him complain."
The pair is no longer able to go to Lake Garda to fulfil the dream wedding but still want to have a wedding with all their friends and family while it is still possible.
They posted an update to their campaign thanking donators for their "incredible generosity".
