Terminal 1 at Manchester Airport partially evacuated in 'false alarm'

A terminal at Manchester Airport was partially evacuated this morning in a 'false alarm'.

Some passengers in Terminal 1 were evacuated after a fire alarm was set off.

The M.E.N understands the incident affected passengers who were boarding at gates one to 10.

A spokesperson for Manchester Airport said there was a 'false alarm'.

They said that somebody had 'set the fire alarm off'.

Normal procedures were followed, the spokesperson added.

Response teams have been stood down.

Service in the terminal has now gone back to normal.
