Terence Crawford demands Errol Spence Jnr fight after denying Amir Khan low blow in New York

Terence Crawford challenged Errol Spence Jnr to a unification title bout following his win over Amir Khan in New York.

Crawford successfully defended his WBO strap against the Briton with a sixth round TKO at Madison Square Garden - with Khan unable to continue as a result of a shot that looked a clear low blow.

The undefeated 31-year-old insisted his shot was not below the belt however and insisted Khan's trainer Virgil Hunter decided to pull his fighter out because he feared he would suffer more damage if the bout continued.

"First of all, it wasn't a low blow and second of all, Virgil knew the fight was going in a bad direction and he saved his fighter before anything bad happened to him," Crawford said in his post-fight interview.

Despite the controversial ending, Crawford's performance, which included a first round knockdown, served to enhance his repuation as one of boxing's best pound-for-pound fighters.

He is now eager to add Spence's IBF world title to his collection.

"There's only one fight they talk about and that's Errol Spence. Whenever he's ready I'm here.

"I can't put a gun to a promoter's head and make them make the fight. All I can do is fight everyone in front of me and we make it happen sooner or later."

Spence is also undefeated, having defended his title in hugely impressive fashion against Mikey Garcia in March.
