KALYAN: In the Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency, frequent clashes occur among leaders of the BJP and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction). Local BJP leaders often confront Dr. Shrikant Shinde, the MP and son of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, in Kalyan Lok Sabha. Simultaneously, it appears that supporters of the Shinde group are also pushing back against the BJP.
Recent developments suggest that leaders of the Shinde group are attempting to project Harjinder Singh Bhullar, also known as Vicky, as the future MLA from Ulhasnagar assembly, currently represented by BJP's Kumar Ailani. Celebrating Vicky's birthday, his supporters have displayed posters across the city, referring to him as a prospective MLA.
Sources indicate that BJP supporters are displeased with the promotion of a Shinde group leader as a future MLA within the BJP MLA's territory. Notably, Vicky Bhullar, son of Bhullar Maharaj, a former senior Shiv Sena corporator with significant influence in the city, has been actively involved in local activities, gaining support, especially among the youth.
With posters portraying Vicky as a future MLA in the BJP MLA's constituency, tensions between Shiv Sena and BJP are anticipated to escalate. Political sources suggest that local Shiv Sena supporters in Kalyan Lok Sabha are dissatisfied with certain BJP leaders who, despite the alliance, consistently target Srikant Shinde locally.
If senior leaders at the state level from both parties do not intervene in the local disputes, there is concern that the lack of unity between the Shiv Sena and BJP at the local level could potentially benefit opposition parties in the future.
