Tense moment at Ravens’ pre-draft press conference is latest wrinkle in ongoing situation with QB Lamar Jackson

The Baltimore Ravens held their annual pre-draft press conference on Wednesday, where head coach John Harbaugh, general manager Eric DeCosta and director of player personnel Joe Hortiz. There were plenty of questions asked about Baltimore’s plans during the 2023 NFL draft, but not many included quarterback Lamar Jackson.

In his first answer on the star quarterback, DeCosta made it clear that he wanted to keep the press conference focused on the draft and not on Jackson. However, when media continued to mention the quarterback’s name, the team stepped in and appeared to again made it clear that the press conference was to be focused on the draft in a tense moment.

The Jackson saga has dragged on for far beyond the 2023 offseason, and it seems as if the team is extremely tired of constantly being asked about a situation that seemingly hasn’t had very much process made recently. The longer it drags out the more of a disaster it becomes for the Ravens with all of the uncertainty that follows, and the tense moment at the pre-draft press conference is the latest wrinkle in a situation that seems like it will never go away.
